If you are planning to hit the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, you might want to reschedule your plans. The multi-lane highway is suffering a massive traffic jam as a oil tanker toppled, choking the route between the two cities.
The oil tanker accident took place near the Khandala exit. The NH4 or the old highway is also suffering slow moving traffic as the vehicles from the expressway have been diverted by the highway police.
Maharashtra Rural Development Minister Pankaja Gopinath Munde tweeted about the traffic jam through her Twitter handle stating, “Plz avoid Pune Mumbai travel on Expressway. Huge traffic jam” (sic).
