MG Hector facelift: What to expect

MG recently revealed that the 2022 Hector facelift will be launched by the end of 2022 and that it will continue to co-exist with the current Hector due to its strong demand. The brand has teased the exterior and interiors of the updated SUV. Expect the updated Hector to launch soon. The 2022 Hector will feature a few cosmetic changes to make it look fresh. As highlighted in the recent teasers, it will get an Argyle-Inspired Diamond Mesh Grille. The grille neatly merges into the familiar LED DRLs. The DRLs are further accentuated by a chrome underline which extends further down. The LED headlights will be placed lower down in the front bumper just like before.

One can also notice the module for ADAS placed between the front skid plate. Other than this, we also expect the new Hector to come with a different design for the alloy wheels and a tweaked design for the rear. At heart, the new MG Hector is expected to be the same as the current model. It gets a 1.5L Turbo Petrol engine that belts out 141 hp of power and 250 Nm of torque. The second engine is a 1.5L Petrol-Hybrid unit that also delivers 141 hp of power and 250 Nm of torque and the last is a 2.0L Diesel engine that produces the most power at 167 hp and 350 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a CVT, DCT and a 6-speed manual.

In terms of interior, the dashboard of the updated MG Hector has been reworked completely. The top and the bottom layer of the dashboard are separated by a brushed aluminum strip running across it. The large A/C vents are in a D-shape as opposed to the large vertically positioned units of the current Hector. The interior comes with a dual-tone Oak White & Black theme. There is a generous use of Piano Black and Brushed Aluminium finish all around the cabin. The multi-color ambient lifts the overall ambiance. The steering wheel has been borrowed from the current Hector and the 7-inch digital instrument cluster has been updated with new graphics.
