Mercedes has showcased the CLA45 AMG at the 2013 New York Auto Show. The CLA45 AMG is basically a more powerful and sportier version of the CLA entry level sedan that is headed to India.
Powering the CLA45 AMG is a 2.0-liter 4 cylinder turbocharged direct injection petrol engine that has a max power output of 360bhp. The peak torque figure is pegged at 450Nm. The engine is mated to a dual clutch 7-speed gearbox that offers as many as three driving modes and transmits power to all four wheels by the use of Mercedes 4MATIC system. The CLA45 AMG rides on 18 inch wheels shod with 235/40R18 rubber.
Mercedes claims that the CLA45 AMG is capable of accelerating to 100kmph from standstill in merely 4.5 seconds and have an electronically governed top whack of 250 kmph.
New visual bits include more aerodynamic front and rear bumpers and AMG sport steering wheel and gear lever for the interiors. The CLA45 AMG gets three stage ESP with Curve Dynamic Assist
The CLA45 AMG will go on sale in July 2013 and will be priced at 56, 078 euros (approx 38.8 lakhs).
