Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe revealed ahead of Detroit Debut

A video shared by Mercedes-Benz on their Facebook page giving a first glimpse of one of the highlights at NAIAS in Detroit, clearly reveals the burly Mercedes-AMG GLE 63. As a direct rival to the new X6 M, the GLE 63 Coupe is most likely to be powered by the 4.0 liter, bi-turbo V8 from the C63 and the GT, down-sizing from AMG’s stable 5.5 liter twin-turbo V8. The specifications will be confirmed when the GLE 63 debuts next week in Detroit.

The design of the GLE is quite close to the concept coupe revealed earlier last year. Although purists might shy away, someone who accepts the absurdity of changing times might appreciate the proper coupe like sloping roof-line which stretches back to a steeply raked rear window. What the GLE combines is coupe like flowing lines with a relatively high ground clearance. The GLE 63 takes the game ahead from the AMG Sport model (GLE 450 AMG – 3.0-litre V6 bi-turbo petrol, 362bhp, 520Nm), with and even more aggressive body-kit, which is in line with the rest of the AMG range.
