The Volvo S60 is easily the best looking sedan to have ever come from the Swedish car maker. The S60 is also among the more well sorted out car among its rivals.
It has always been a known fact that the Swedish car maker is busy with the development of a long wheelbase variant of the S60, for car markets like that of China, where people don’t ever seem to get enough of rear legroom.

Keeping that in mind, the Geely owned auto manufacturer has added 8 cms to the S60’s wheelbase and all this additional length translates into more real estate for the rear passengers. On the outside, the car manages to look like it belongs to a segment above and has got rear doors that are longer than the ones in the front.

Engine options for the upcoming Volvo S60L will be the same as those for the China spec standard wheelbase variant. This means that the car will be offered in China with a choice of three engines- a 200 bhp 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol, a 241 bhp 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol and a 300 bhp 3.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine.

The upcoming S60L will be seen battling it out against the Audi A4 L, BMW 3Li and the Mercedes C Class EWB in Chinese market and the car is expected to go on sale for a starting price of 220,000 Yuan.

The S60L sedan will be manufactured at the Geely’s new Chengdu facility and the car could make its public debut at the Chengdu Auto Show in September.
