Popular luxury car maker Maserati has come up with few expansion plans to generate more volumes. The Fiat owned automaker is developing an executive sedan to rival the BMW 5 series and the Italian car manufacturer is also working on a SUV to rival some luxury crossovers. The upcoming Maserati sedan and SUV will be called Ghibli and Levante respectively.
Now, it has emerged that the development of the above two cars is not the only task which is keeping Maserati busy. The carmaker has also planned a compact SUV to take the fight straight to the Range Rover Evoque and Porsche Macan.
The upcoming Compact SUV will employ a long-wheelbase version of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta platform and would be launched in 2016.
The Maserati Ghibli sedan, on the other hand, will debut as soon as in late 2013. The Ghilbi will be followed by the all new GranTurismo in 2014. The Maserati Levante will debut in 2015. This means that starting 2013, Maserati will launch a new car every year till 2016.
