Maruti Suzuki Invicto: What details do we know so far?

Recently, a slew of spy snippets went viral on the internet depicting the first glance of the MPV. To differentiate it from its Toyota counterpart, the carmaker has tweaked the front profile comprising a new bumper, grille, and headlights. Furthermore, the styling of this MPV will be accentuated by the new LED taillights with inserts and a unique alloy design.

Like the exterior, the carmaker will also tweak the interior of this MPV. We can expect a similar dashboard layout with a slew of minor tweaks and the addition of new features. However, the carmaker has already claimed that Invicto will be a low-volume contributor to the company’s sales. The Invicto boasts a new carbon-friendly hybrid technology and will be built in the same plant which produces Innova Hycross.

Maruti Suzuki Invicto: Powertrain and mileage

Since the Invicto will be based on Innova Hycross, it is expected to receive the same set of powertrains. The base variants will receive a 2.0L 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine churning out 173hp and 209nm of output. This engine will be coupled to a CVT transmission.

However, the higher variants will be powered by the 2.0L 4-cylinder hybrid petrol engine coupled with an electric motor. This engine churns out a combined output of 183hp and 206nm mated to an e-CVT transmission. In the hybrid iteration, the Invicto is expected to deliver around 15-18kmpl of fuel efficiency in real-world circumstances.

Maruti Suzuki Invicto: Pricing and the Competition

Maruti Suzuki Invicto is expected to be priced lower than the Innova Hycross to cater to a broad audience. The Invicto will receive similar 7-seater and 8-seater configurations as the Innova Hycross. When launched, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto will lock horns with Kia Carnival and Toyota Innova Hycross in the market.
