The upcoming Maruti YRA premium hatchback has been spied once again on the Indian soil. The model was previewed by the Suzuki iK-2 Concept which was showcased at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show this year. In India, the model will be positioned above the Swift and will be launched in the second half of 2015. The model will be under the 4 metre mark lengthwise.
The Maruti Suzuki YRA hatchback will feature an all-new, curvy dashboard design. Earlier spy pics have showed that the interior features an all-black color scheme with silver finished inserts for the center console and around the HVAC vents. The car also features a new three-spoke steering wheel, with an all-new instrument cluster design. It will also be loaded to the gills to compete with the Hyundai i20 and the upcoming Honda Jazz.
The 2015 Maruti YRA is likely to get the following features :
- Automatic climate control
- Steering mounted controls
- 2-DIN music system
- ABS & EBD
- Key-less entry
- Engine start stop button
- Electrically adjustable and folding wing mirrors
- Front airbags
- Reverse parking sensors
Powering the YRA hatchback will be a new Suzuki 1.0 liter turbocharged Boosterjet engine. Diesel power will come from the usual 1.3 liter multijet diesel mill which will be found under the hood in a 90 bhp tune.
Reports suggest the YRA may be christened as Fronx. We can expect a launch by the festive season this year. Stay tuned to Motoroids for more details.
