Maruti Suzuki launched their flagship NEXA showrooms on 23 July, 2015. Come August 5, however, the carmaker will launch the all-new S-Cross in India. Upon launch, the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross will be sold exclusively through these premium NEXA outlets.
The S-Cross will be exclusively sold through NEXA outlets
The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross will be offered with two diesel powerplants. The first of these will be the familiar 1.3-litre (called DDiS 200), 90 PS motor that offers 200 Nm of torque and will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. This engine is credited with an ARAI-rated fuel economy figure of 23.65 km/l. Customers who like more performance from their S-Cross, can opt for the 1.6-litre (called DDiS 320) unit. This engine develops 120 PS of power and 320 Nm of twist, and it comes paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. This one gets an ARAI-rated fuel consumption figure of 22.7 km for every litre of diesel. Unlike the DDiS 200 motor, the DDiS 320 isn’t manufactured in India.

The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross will be available in 8 trim levels – the entry-level Sigma (DDiS 200 only), entry-level Delta (DDiS 320 only), Zeta and the fully-loaded Alpha. Even the base trim will feature a driver-side airbag as standard fitment. Top-spec Alpha trim gets features like automatic climate control, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights with HID projector units, reverse parking sensors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel etc.
Maruti Suzuki is yet to disclose the price list for the S-Cross, but we will update you with that information soon. In the meanwhile, read our comprehensive review of the S-Cross, here.
Stands corrected, thank you.
