Maruti Suzuki S Cross Removed From Official Website: Discontinued?

Since the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross was first released in 2015 it hasn’t been the best Maruti when it came to sales. With the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos dominating the segment, the S Cross has had a hard time keeping up with them. The S-Cross was Maruti’s attempt at making a mark in the premium mid-size crossover segment, however, it couldn’t hit the desired target sales. Hence, Maruti Suzuki recently launched the Grand Vitara which is armed with everything to fight it out in the mid-size SUV segment. As a result of this, it seems that Maruti has removed the S Cross from their website indicating that it has been discontinued.

In 2015 the S-Cross is powered by a diesel Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre MultiJet unit called the S-Cross DDiS200. The more powerful version was the DDiS320 powered by a 1.6-liter diesel engine. The 200 was offered with a five-speed manual while the 320 was offered with a six-speed manual. In 2020, it left the diesel market altogether and the S-Cross was relaunched with a 1.5-liter petrol mild-hybrid engine that could be had with either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. The car has a length of 4300 mm, a width of 1785 mm, and a wheelbase of 2600 mm. It has a max torque of 138 Nm at 4400 rpm and a max power of 103.25 bhp at 6000 rpm. Maruti Suzuki S-Cross mileage claimed by ARAI is 18.4 to 18.5 km/l.

The 2017 S-Cross facelift came with a larger grille and a new SUV-like chin, the 2020 facelift didn’t feature a BS6 engine and no new turbo petrol unit which were very much common in almost all cars in that year. The S-Cross petrol also got the updated SmartPlay screen interface, with its improved user experience. The model was available in five colors that include Nexa Blue, Caffeine Brown, Granite Grey, Pearl Arctic White, and Premium Silver. The mid-size crossover was priced between ₹ 8.72 Lakh and went all the way up to ₹ 12.70 Lakh (Avg. ex-showroom). S-Cross comes in 7 variants with the automatic version starting at a price of ₹11.08 lakh.
