Maruti Suzuki India announced its newest milestone of becoming the only car manufacturer in India to roll out its 15 millionth car. The 15 millionth car, a DZire VDi (Chassis No. MA3FJEB1S00740865) rolled out from the Company’s Manesar facility. The first car, a Maruti 800, had rolled out from the Gurgaon facility in December 1983. The Company has achieved this milestone in 31 years and 5 months.
Company’s medium term goal is to clock sales of two million vehicles per annum by 2020. It is expanding its product portfolio, foraying into new segments, strengthening the sales and service network and enhancing capabilities across the value chain. Models that significantly contributed to this journey include Maruti 800, Brand Alto, Wagon R, Omni and new models such as Swift and DZire.
