Maruti Suzuki Colors of Youth picks seven talents from West India

Maruti Suzuki India Limited, India’s largest automobile manufacturer in the country is all set to find India’s most talented youngster. Maruti Suzuki ‘Colors of Youth’ a national level competition is only open to students from Engineering & Management colleges.

The competition that kick started from Welingkar Institute of Management, Mumbai selected 4 teams  from a total of 68 teams. Some of the prestigious participating colleges were Welingkar Institute of Management, Chanakya Institute of Management Studies & Research, Dalmia College, Gujarat Institute of Hotel Management (Vadodara), S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research and IIT. The highlight of this round was the Band Performance by S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research.

Through ‘Maruti Suzuki Colors of Youth 2011’ the Company connects with the youth from National B-Schools & Professional Colleges of the country.  The competition evaluates the performance skills of the participants and then puts them through a general awareness quiz to bring out the overall winner.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Chief General Manager (Marketing), Maruti Suzuki India says, “Maruti Suzuki is known for its vast range of cars that cater to a wide spectrum of customers. On similar lines Maruti Suzuki’s unique initiative ‘Colors of Youth 2011’ promises to provide a national level platform where students from varied backgrounds get a chance to showcase their performance skills. While platforms to showcase academic talent are many but such platforms as the ‘Colors of Youth’ are very few. With this competition Maruti Suzuki is once again setting up a leading example.”

The eminent panel of judges includes noted musician Mr. Subir Malik (Parikrama) and Ms.Diana Hayden, international model and former Miss World.

‘Maruti Suzuki Colors of Youth 2011’ is an institutional level competition spanning over a period of 3 months. It will be contested across 10 cities at leading business schools. The preliminary rounds will be, followed by the 4 zonal rounds and a mega finale in New Delhi. The winners will get a chance to win a brand new Maruti Suzuki Ritz and other exciting prizes.

The competition covers 10 cities in the country. The other cities are Delhi, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Kolkata, Indore, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore.

The four finalists from the City Finale for West Zonal Round are—Partha, Prashant, Abhineet and Rahul from S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research, Vrushank Patankar from  Dr. VN Bedekar inst of Management Studies,  Shweta Singh from Institute of Business and Research, Niranjan Nikalje—Chanakya Institute of Management Studies & Research
