The MMRDA grounds, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, witnessed the 5th chapter of the Maruti Suzuki Autocross last week. The high octane event offers thrilling track to experience the adrenaline-charged motorsport. After two successful runs previously at Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru respectively, Autocross kick-started in Mumbai, MMRDA on 13th December and will go on till 14th December.
With exciting twists, sharp turns and hairpin bends on a 500 meter stretch, this year’s Autocross edition is packed with power and enthusiasm. Many adventure seekers from the city have come over to enjoy an adrenaline rush like no other. Maruti Suzuki Autocross has become the place where aspiring racers put their driving skills to the test. Many amateur rally drivers see it as the base of their evolution into professionals. It has become the stepping stone from where they begin their journey to popular rallies like Raid de Himalaya, Desert Storm and Dakshin Dare.
This latest edition of Maruti Suzuki Autocross is specially designed for all the motorsport aficionados. Following last year’s success, along with 156 entries this year, stakes go even higher at the Delhi-NCR edition of Autocross. Maruti Suzuki has a relaxed entry fee to encourage its corporates participants and allows participation from all makes of cars.
Talking about the 5th edition of Maruti Suzuki Autocross in the city, Mr. Manohar Bhat, Vice President Marketing said, “We have received an overwhelming response on the first day of Autocross with over 150 participants. The best timing, recorded so far, to complete the stretch is 81.09 seconds. The competition is getting tougher and we would like to see more motorsport enthusiasts to pour in and set a new record this season.”
