The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki launched its crossover Fronx through its NEXA chain of dealerships on 24 April. With prices starting from Rs. 7.46 lakh and going all the way to Rs. 13.13 lakh (ex-showroom), the automaker has now begun deliveries of coupe-SUV.
Interestingly, Maruti Suzuki has also added a new colour scheme to the Fronx’s colour palette so, here are all the details.
Fronx: New Colour
At the time of launch, Maruti had given a total of 9 paint schemes for its Fronx coupe-SUV which included 6 monotone and 3 dual-tone colour options. The dual-tone paint scheme came with a bluish black colour finished roof with the option of red, brown, or silver as the main body colour. However, now the automaker has made the bluish black roof colour of the dual-tone variants available as a new monotone paint shade.
This takes the total number of monotone paint options available on the crossover to seven viz. Grandeur Grey, Arctic White, Nexa Blue, Opulent Red, Splendid Silver, Earthen Brown, & the newly introduced Bluish Black shade. The new colour is a darker shade of blue when compared to the existing signature Nexa Blue paint available at the time of launch.
Interestingly, prior to the Fronx’s debut, Maruti had recently rolled-out black editions for its Nexa & Arena models. So, this new bluish-black paint shade could be in a way a black edition of the Fronx.
Fronx: Engines & Transmission Options
The Fronx comes with a choice of 2 petrol motors — a 1.2L naturally aspirated and a 1.0L turbo unit. The 1.2L NA is good for 90PS of power @ 6000rpm & 113Nm of torque @ 4400rpm. The 1.0L turbo powerplant gives a meaty 100PS of power @ 5500rpm & 148Nm of torque between 2000-4500rpm.
Both engines come with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. Automatic transmission options include a 5-speed AMT for the 1.2L NA petrol and a 6-speed torque converter for the 1.0L turbo petrol engine.
