Maruti Brezza MT Mild Hybrid Is Back

Maruti Suzuki has brought back the Brezza with its mild-hybrid technology in manual form, making a significant splash in the compact SUV segment.

After a brief pause in July 2023, during which the mild-hybrid tech was removed from the manual versions, the company has reintroduced this fuel-saving feature.

The revamped Brezza now targets higher-spec variants, with prices starting at an attractive Rs 11.05 lakh.

Pricing and Variants

The Maruti Brezza MT ZXI and ZXI+ variants, now equipped with the mild-hybrid tech, are competitively priced at Rs 11.05 lakh and Rs 12.48 lakh respectively.

In comparison, the automatic variants include VXI AT at Rs 11.15 lakh, ZXI AT at Rs 12.55 lakh, and ZXI+ AT at Rs 13.98 lakh.

The Brezza lineup also includes the LXI at Rs 8.29 lakh and VXI at Rs 9.65 lakh without the mild-hybrid tech.

Performance Boost: Fuel Efficiency

The addition of mild-hybrid technology has significantly impacted the fuel efficiency of the top-spec Brezza models. The ARAI-rated mileage has experienced a substantial boost from 17.38kpl to 19.89kpl.

While this figure is slightly lower than the previous 20.5kpl delivered by the discontinued mild-hybrid tech, it positions the Brezza ahead of its competitors in terms of fuel efficiency.

A Comparative Analysis: Brezza vs Rivals

In the realm of compact SUVs, the Maruti Brezza, with its newfound mileage, stands out in comparison to its rivals. ARAI fuel efficiency ratings for the Brezza, Kia Sonet, Maruti Fronx, and Tata Nexon reveal interesting insights.

The Brezza now surpasses the Kia Sonet in mild-hybrid form, with the Maruti Fronx maintaining its position as the most frugal in the segment.
