Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES) announced its sales numbers for May 2015.
Domestic sales in May 2015 stood at 18,245 units, as against 23,132 units during May 2014. Total tractor sales (domestic + exports) during May 2015 stood at 19,257 units, as against 23,940 units for the same period last year. Exports for the month stood at 1,012 units, registering a growth of 25%.
Commenting on the monthly performance, Harish Chavan, Chief Operating Officer – Farm Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “We have registered a sale of 18,245 units during May 2015. At Mahindra, we have seen a positive trend in our tractor exports which have grown by 25% during the last month. For the tractor industry, the upcoming monsoon will be the primary trigger and we are hopeful of a good monsoon which will have a positive impact on pent up demand thereby leading to improved market sentiments”.
