Powertrain Options in Mahindra Thar
The new Mahindra Thar is available with a plethora of powertrain options. The petrol engine is a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged unit known as the M-Stallion T-GDi. This engine makes 150ps of power and 320Nm of output and it is available with RWD and 4WD variants. The base diesel engine is a 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged unit that also powers the Xuv300. This engine produces 117ps of power and 300Nm of output and is available in the RWD variant only.
Mahindra Thar is also available with a more powerful diesel engine which is a 2.2L 4-cylinder unit. This engine is known as M-Hawk and it produces 130ps of power and 300Nm of output and is available in the 4WD variant only. Both the engines are available with a 6-Speed Manual and 6-Speed Automatic Gearbox options along with the RWD and 4WD drivetrain options.
