It has been a while since Mahindra teased its upcoming electric SUVs which will be revealed on the 15th of August. The Indian carmaker first showed off three electric coupes a few months back. What to expect

Mahindra has given its SUVs the ‘born electric’ moniker since these EVs are electric from the ground up and not based on any existing I.C.E cars. The teaser only shows us the silhouette of the electric SUVs and doesn’t reveal much other than the fact that most of them will feature a coupe-like sloping roofline. However, one of these SUVs has a silhouette that is exactly like the XUV700. This hints that an electric version of the flagship SUV could on its way soon.

The previous teaser by Mahindra revealed a few other details about the electric SUVs. It can be assumed that these cars are bulky and will have a good road presence, the lights are also expected to have an all-LED setup. The rear LED headlights are in the shape of an inverted C and C which is kind of reminiscent of the XUV700’s LED DRLs. This hints at the fact that the electric SUVs could be a part of the XUV lineup. One of these SUVs could be the XUV900 which would be designed as an SUV coupe. Set to be the flagship SUV, one can expect the XUV900 to showcase Mahindra’s latest technology in terms of safety, infotainment, and powertrains.

These electric SUVs are also expected to come with Mahindra’s ADAS technology which made its debut in the XUV700. Expect these EVs to be built on an all-new platform that will support multiple body styles. The first electric SUV to be launched by Mahindra will be the XUV400 which is essentially the electric version of the XUV300. The XUV400 will be revealed in September and is expected to be launched soon after it.
