Mahindra has achieved the new Guinness World Record Title for the fastest production SUV to cross the Simpson Desert. Right after the launch in Australia, Mahindra Scorpio-N managed to achieve this title. Moreover, the SUV maker has recently launched the XUV700 on Australian shores.
About Mahindra Scorpio-N’s performance in the Simpson Desert
The newly launched Scorpio-N has represented a brilliant performance in every step of this expedition. The SUV has easily crossed 1100 sand dunes in temperatures reaching a peak of 50 degrees. Furthermore, the SUV crossed all the obstacles in the desert within a period of 13 hours.
Behind the wheel of Scorpio-N were the experienced co-drivers Gene Corbett from Total Driver and Ben Robinson from 4WD Industries. However, this epic adventure was captured and completed by the team including skilled drivers, photographers, and videographers. The Guinness World Records has officially verified and recognized its record-breaking journey.
About the Simpson Desert
The Simpson Desert is an attractive destination that attracts motoring enthusiasts from all corners of the globe. The Scorpio-N has achieved the World Record title in this desert. With its beautiful scenery, varying landscapes, and dense vegetation, it offers the best experience. The record-breaking journey was all completed within an impressive 13 hours of the time period. It started at the crack of dawn in Birdsville and finished at Alkaseltzer Bore.
Along the 385 km long journey, the Scorpio-N successfully crossed salt flats positioned 20 meters above sea level. This has proved to be a tough challenge due to the high moisture content. Nonetheless, the Scorpio-N overcame this obstacle with utmost ease and achieved the world record title.
