Mahindra has introduced a new range of tractors in India known as Oja. The word Oja is derived from the Sanskrit word called the Ojas which means energy or vigor. These tractors will be manufactured in Mahindra’s production plant in Telangana.
Based on the new Oja platform, the automaker will play an important role in the lightweight tractor segment globally. The price range of the OJA 2127 27hp model is slated at Rs. 5.64 Lakhs Ex-showroom. While the OJA 3140 40hp model is priced at Rs. 7.35 Lakhs Ex-showroom.
Details about the Oja platform
Mahindra Oja is a modular and versatile platform which is further subdivided into 3 distinct categories. The categories include the Sub Compact, Compact and Small Utility versions. With these different categories, the Oja tractors will cater to the diverse needs of a wider audience.
Meanwhile, the automaker has invested Rs. 1200 crores for the development of the Oja series. These categories include the models offering power ranging from 20hp to 40hp which suits the various tasks. Each Oja tractor model is equipped with a standard 4×4 system, connected features, and an ergonomic design for optimal performance.
The company has planned to launch the sub-compact models in the US market only. However, the sub-compact and small utility models will be offered in the USA, India, Brazil, South Africa, Europe, SAARC, and ASEAN markets.
About the Packs of Oja tractors
Mahindra will offer various customization packs with the new Oja range of tractors. However, the automaker will offer 3 packs including Proja, Myoja and Roboja. The Proja is based on productivity while the Myoja is an intelligence pack. The Roboja pack features an advanced automation system.
In terms of features, these packs are designed to cater to the various needs of the customers. The Proja pack gets features like tilt and telescopic adjustment for steering, projector lights, electric PTO, etc. While the Myoja pack is loaded with advanced features like live location, geo-fencing, service alerts, fuel alerts, etc.
Meanwhile, the Roboja pack is the most advanced pack among the other packs. This pack is oriented towards automation and gets features like automatic braking, keyless start, electronic depth and draft control, electronic raise and low control, etc. With these optional packs, the Oja tractor series represents a premium and upmarket choice, delivering the utmost practicality to users.
