Mahindra & Mahindra participated in the FAME India Eco Drive 2015, on the occasion of World Environment Day, with its fleet of electric vehicles powered by Reva. FAME India Eco Drive is a public awareness initiative to promote the use of hybrid and electric vehicles. The eco-friendly event was organized by the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Government of India in Association with the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), SMEV and Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL).
From the Mahindra stable, a fleet of 10 Mahindra e2os, 4 electric Veritos and 1 electric Maxximo participated in the country’s first ever mega green-vehicle rally, covering a distance of 21 kilometres from India Gate to IGI Airport Terminal 3. Aimed at creating awareness and buzz among citizens about the benefits and utility of electric vehicles, a number of Mahindra customers joined hands for this Eco Drive, as enthusiastic proponents of electric vehicles and clean technology.
Anant Geete, Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Government of India, flagged off the event in the presence of Prakash Javadekar, Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India from India Gate in New Delhi this morning.
