Mahindra and Mahindra to launch the Xylo Micro Hybrid by year end

Mahindra and Mahindra will launch the Xylo with their Micro Hybrid technology by the end of this year. The Micro Hybris technology, employed by Mahindra and Mahindra earlier in their Scorpio SUV, isn’t exactly a drivetrain technology, but more of an automated sto-start system. The technology automatically switches the engine on and off while idling so as to save fuel, without you having to twist the ignition key at all. For eg, if you are waiting at a traffic signal, in neutral gear with the engine at optimum temperature and the battery on full charge, the system will cut the engine off to save fuel.

The company has announced that they will incorporate the Micro Hybrid tech in their Mahindra XYLO MUV by the end of this year. “We plan to launch the Xylo micro-hybrid before the end of the year” – said Pawan Goenka, President, Automotive and Farm Equipment, M&M
