The wait is OVER! Skoda India, the Indian subsidiary of the VW Group owned Czech automaker, has unveiled the much hyped new 2013 Skoda Octavia in our country. The car would be seen entering the highly competitive Indian car market in September.
The 2013 Octy is already on sale in many European countries and has been receiving rave reviews from many auto hacks from across the continent. Skoda India has high hopes from the new Octavia and going by what our friends at some international publications have told us, we feel that the latest Octavia could easily become the most competitive car to have ever come from the Skoda.
The new 2013 Octavia is underpinned by the much publicized MQB platform. It may be noted that the same platform underpins many more new-age Volkswagen group cars.
The 2013 Skoda Octavia is the third generation Octavia in India and Skoda claims that it is the largest, most practical, safest, most comfortable and environmentally friendly Octavia ever. The new Octavia comes equipped with several gizmos that it will borrow from the bigger Superb and the insides are likely to boast of higher quality of plastics. Boasting of fresh new interior space, Skoda states that it has been made aesthetically appealing, precise and refined.
It is almost for sure that the new Octy will be pricier than the Laura but on the same time, the car might come across as a much more value for money proposition due to its larger size, newer technology and a bigger equipment list.
We are eagerly waiting to drive the new Octavia on our roads. We are also waiting to get our hands on the vRS variant of the upcoming entry level D segment cars.
