LeEco and Daimler to explore potential partnership

After joining hands with British supercar maker Aston Martin, LeEco may also team up with German auto giant Daimler. Top executive level of Daimler AG, parent company of Mercedes-Benz, paid a visit to LeEco, the leading global internet and technology giant on Tuesday (March 1st), discussing the possibility of cooperation or even partnership. Both companies agreed that internet-based electric vehicle will dominate the future of automobile market.

Mr. Liu Hong, co-founder and COO of LeEco, together with Mr. Ding Lei, co-founder of LeEco Super Car and Global vice president of LeEco, received the visit of Mr. Hubertus Troska, Chairman and CEO of Daimler Greater China and Prof. Hans Georg Engel, the head of Daimler’s Chinese R&D facilities in LeEco’s Beijing headquarter. Both sides talked about possible cooperation on electric car power system, car-sharing project, smart-driving and O2O etc.

Mr. Hubertus Troska spoke highly of LeEco’s SEE plan and indicated that electric, smart, socialized and internet-connected vehicles would take dominant position in automobile industry in the near future. He showed keen interests in the SEE Plan, and LeEco’s integrated and open Ecosystem.

Mr. Troska said Benz as a traditional auto company has realized the coming of the “new world”, a world with electric, smart, socialized and internet-based car.

Mr. Ding Lei said that user demands will tremendously shape the landscape of future automobile industry, and LeEco has been attaching great importance to an open Ecosystem. He added that LeEco is very open to partnership opportunities.
