Recently, Red Bull KTM factory rider and back-to-back 450 Supercross Champion, Ryan Dungey won the 2016 Monster Energy AMA Supercross championship. Following the motorsport series, at a celebration event KTM launched the 2017 edition of the 50 SX, 65 SX, and 85 SX by the hands of the Supercross champion.
These mini motorcycles are pumped up with new features and updated tech for their 2017 avatar. The bikes are equipped with new AER 35 forks by WP Suspension. This new tech allows the bikes to be adjusted easily for a growing rider with a simple fork pump. They also feature a fully adjustable shock absorber, new exhaust system, an hour meter and new graphics.
The KTM 50 SX is powered by a single cylinder, 2-stroke engine housed in a central tube frame with double cradle. The power from this 49cc engine is pushed to the rear wheels by a single-speed automatic. A slightly more powered 65SX draws power from a 64.9cc 1-cylinder, 2-stroke engine that is strapped with a 6-speed transmission. Lastly, the 85SX is fitted with an 84.9cc engine that is assisted by 6–speed gearbox. This 2017 sport-mini-bike range will be available in KTM Dealers at the beginning of June 2016 in the US.
