The KTM Duke 200 and 390 have played quite a role in changing the face of Indian performance bike segments. Thanks to the launch of KTM Duke 200 and 390 in India, Indian bike enthusiasts now have access to world class motorcycles that offer stellar performance and are available at attractive price points. KTM owners have always appreciated the bike’s strong performance, good road handling and its nimbleness. However, that hasn’t kept several KTM owners from enhancing their bike’s performance by slapping on a free flow exhaust or giving the engine a re-map. While these mods have surely been effective with improving the engine performance, the biggest hurdle that comes in the way of those willing to opt for these mods, especially a re-map, is that these modifications void the warranty.
Now, in a move that will be highly appreciated by many, KTM has decided to soon become the first manufacturer in the Indian bike market to offer factory approved custom maps for its bikes. It is being said that KTM India is currently developing two maps for both its Duke motorcycles. While one of this map will be for performance riding, the other will be for city usage. Both these maps will come certified by KTM Austria, which means one need not suspect the effectiveness of these maps. The best part, however, is that these maps won’t void the bike’s warranty. The maps will be available at KTM service centres across India and one map can be installed at a time. However, one can also get the map changed when he wishes to.
