If not a shock, we’d say this one’s a real big surprise. Motorcycle website BikeAdvice has published pictures of the KTM 950 Adventure and the KTM 1190 Adventure in India. We do remember the Bajaj-KTM Alliance already having confirmed their plans of getting the entire KTM range to India, but seems a bit too early to expect the bigger siblings from the Austrian manufacturer.
As mentioned by BikeAdvice, the completely geared up riders of these motorcycles refused to reveal any details on the two bikes. Where on one hand, KTM’s plans for making India as an export hub for their motorcycles cannot be disregarded, while on the other expecting the bigger KTM lineup for the Indian market is just a matter of time.
On similar lines- it is quite possible that these bikes might be test mules from the beta batch slated for world markets- or simply KTM is testing these dual sport bikes for India itself. If a case of the latter, it would indeed be a surprise seeing the alliance take a big leap in terms of displacement from the current offering of the KTM 390 Duke. In fact we were expecting the KTM 690 Duke to be a more probable and step up candidate in the offering for the performance segment in India. But anyways, we’re not complaining!
If Bajaj-KTM manage to get these two motorcycles on a similar VFM factor as the Duke 200 and the 390- we’d say it would be prayers answered for the touring aficionados in the country who have been craving for a performance oriented adventure motorcycle.
