The award recognizes KPIT’s quick project delivery that included hardware and software integration for the On Bus Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). ITS creates improved urban transport in India enabling bus fleet owners and state transport authorities to gather and analyze data from the buses.
KPIT’s expedient deployment and integration helped Volvo become the first OEM to complete homologation of their buses with ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) and CIRT (Central Institute of Road Transport). Designed for 24 x 7 uninterrupted operation, KPIT’s robust auto-grade On-Bus ITS, is tailored for Indian operating conditions, superseding several global specifications and is approved by ARAI as per UBS II specifications.
