Kia Cars get Updated with RDE Compliant Engines

Kia has updated its lineup with new powertrains. The lineup now comprises the Sonet, Seltos, and Carens. The updated powertrain offers a smoother and more efficient driving experience, while also meeting the BS6 phase 2 emission norms and supporting E20 blended fuel. By introducing these new powertrains, Kia Motors has demonstrated its commitment to providing environmentally friendly vehicles.

Updates in the engine options of Kia Cars

Kia has discontinued the 1.4L turbo petrol engine from Seltos and Carens. And there is no turbo petrol engine option in the Seltos. However, the Kia Carens is updated with the new 1.5L T-GDi turbo petrol engine that makes 160ps of power and 253Nm of torque output. The rest of the petrol engines are available in the respective variants of the lineup. Talking about the diesel, Kia has replaced the 1.5 CRDi WGT engine with the 1.5 CRDi VGT engine in all of its models. This engine offers an increased power output of 116 PS compared to the earlier 100 PS. Meanwhile, the torque output is increased from 240nm to 250nm.

Updates in the transmission of Kia Cars

Kia India has made the 6iMT a standard transmission in the diesel and Petrol turbo variants of all Kia India models that are currently available. It means that Manual Transmission will now only be available in the Seltos and Carens with Smartstream 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine, and in the Sonet with Smartstream 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine. Kia has discontinued the 6-Speed Manual Transmission from the diesel counterpart.

Feature Updates in Kia Cars

In addition to the powertrain updates, Kia has made several updates to its models. One such update is the introduction of the ISG (Idle Stop Go) feature, which is now standard across all models. Also, Kia is offering the Kia Connect Skill for Amazon Alexa, which offers a perfect connected experience for customers. This feature allows customers to connect their Alexa device to their vehicle by registering on the Amazon Alexa application and accessing the Kia Connect Skill in the Skills and Games section. Even the customers of EV6 can avail of these features for an ultimate experience.
