Kawasaki ZZR Performance Sport Edition

Kawasaki ZZR 1400 Performance Sport edition shows up

The Ninja is celebrating it’s 30th Anniversary this year. Kawasaki ensured it’s customers in the U.S and Canada celebrated, as they offered them a ZX-14R painted in Nostalgia. The Japanese manufacturer was quick to cross the Atlantic and continued to celebrate 30 years of hooliganism in Europe, revealing the Kawasaki ZZR 1400 Performance Sport Edition, a go-faster version of an already very fast motorcycle.

Performance wise, there isn’t any bump in the power figures and the bike still makes an incredible 200 ps of power(210 Ps with RAM air). However, the ECU has been tuned to deliver additional thrust above 4000 rpm and dual engine mapping and dual throttle valves ensure the ZZR 1400 Performance Sport delivers optimal performance for any throttle-gear combination.

The 2014 Kawasaki ZZR 1400 Performance Sport comes with a slipper clutch, a shorted-geared 6-speed transmission, Eco riding indicator, a longer and stronger swingarm for the monocoque aluminium frame and standard ABS for the dual 310 4-pot, 4-pad radial front calipers, complemented by a twin-piston opposed 250 rotor. Ohlins suspensions are stock, with a TTX monoshock in the rear, and the 2014 Kawasaki ZZR 1400 Performance Sport also comes with a multi-adjustable 43mm USD fork. The titanium exhausts come from Akrapovic, and the KTRC traction control is also a standard trim.

Cosmetic changes are minor and include a new double bubble windscreen that offers better wind protection, revised seat pattern that provides additional comfort to the rider and pillion and new shades of Golden Blazed Green & Metallic Spark Black. The 2014 Kawasaki ZZR 1400 Performance Sport commands a hefty premium of €2,770 over the base model, not too much to ask on Kawasaki’s part for letting the world live out of their skin for three entire decades.
