The wait is over blokes and the powerful Japanese mercenaries have arrived. The Kawasaki ZX10R and the ZX14R have finally and officially hit Indian shores with the Kawasaki-Bajaj Alliance now claiming their space on the Indian Supersports Motorcycle scene- earlier occupied by the Japanese trio of Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki.
The Kawasaki ZX10R carries a modest sticker price of INR 15.7 lacs whereas the ZX14R would retail at INR 16.9 lacs, both ex-showroom Pune. The bikes would be sold through a standalone showroom in Wakdewadi Pune- the inauguration for which will be held on the 7th of September. Bookings for the new Kawasakis would start tomorrow with deliveries starting by end of September.
With both bikes being brought via the CBU (Complete Built Up) route, Kawasaki is looking at an annual target of 100 units for both these motorcycles.
Talking of the bikes, the ZX10R is one of the best track ready supersports motorcycles money could buy today. Producing a peak power of 197 ps @ 13000 rpm from its four pod 998cc motor, the ZX10R boasts of a new chassis, dampening system and a stiffer spring set up for precise handling around the track.
Whereas on the other hand, the ZX14R- is a pure powerhouse cranking out a mind-boggling 210ps of power from its 1441cc four cylinder engine and claims of being one of the fastest on two wheels on the planet.
