Karim Habib to become the new Head of Design, BMW Automobiles

Our regular readers here will remember that I am absolutely in love with the styling of the present age Bimmers. The design language that was brought to the German car manufacturer by very popular Chris Bangle continues to be in used in a slightly evolved form. The latest development in the design department of BMW cars is that Karim Habib, who has been a member of the design team since 1998, will become the Head of BMW Design from 1st June. Karim has been in charge for Exterior Design BMW since the first quarter of last year.

Karim has worked on the latest gen BMW 7 Series and many other cars from the famous manufacturers’ line up. Karim, who is pretty thrilled about the new role he will play, said that he is honoured to be chosen as the Head of the Design department.

“Karim Habib is an outstanding designer who has had a significant impact on the design of the BMW brand over many years. His longstanding experience and subtle instinct for timely elegance and dynamics are the ideal prerequisites for this demanding task. I look forward very much to his support and collaboration,” says Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President BMW Group Design.

  1. Good move by Tata Motors. Elan is already on high VFM (value for money). It would be amazing if they are willing to give even more with a same price tag.

  2. Management Punditz

It always amazes how celebration edition adds value to a brand. We have seen many special edition variants in the past, but none has been properly promoted or were able to create enough excitement. Automobile companies need to bring that special oomph/enthusiasm in the market.
