We have been reporting in detail about Fiat Group’s plans of launching the Jeep brand in India. As we have been saying, the SUV maker will begin its Indian innings with the iconic Wrangler and Grand Cherokee SUV.
Also on the cards are a B segment and C segment SUV developed specifically for India and other developing market. These, in all probability, will be the bread and butter models for car maker in India.
As we reported earlier, the new Jeep B Segment SUV will share the platform with the Fiat 500X and will go on sale in 2015. It has emerged that the new B segment SUV will be powered by Fiat 1.4 litre T-Jet petrol and 1.6 litre Multijet diesel engine.
The Jeep B Segment SUV will be locally assembled to keep the costs low and is being expected to be priced at this side of INR 10 lakhs.
