Lamborghini Urus spotted

Is this a Lamborghini Urus SUV test mule?

With SUV’s becoming a popular choice of automobiles these days, every automaker is working on adding one such model to its product portfolio. Not only SUVs but also compact SUV’s and crossovers have found a new liking by people across the globe. Recently, British luxury automobile manufacturer Bentley unveiled their first and all new SUV, the Bentayga.

Regulars here would not be new to the name Urus. But just so that all of you know, Italian marquee Lamborghini too has been working on an SUV. Known as the Urus concept, the model was unveiled at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show. Now, ahead of its world debut scheduled to take place at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, a spy image of what seems to be a test mule of Urus as surfaced on the web.

The Urus will be the second SUV of the brand after the LM002 that was introduced back in 1986. This spy image, taken at the Munich International Airport, does not tell much about the mode. Heck, we couldn’t even decipher what model it was until a sticker on the bonnet with the ‘Lamborghini’ lettering gave us a clue.

What we did find out later was that the model is not a test mule of Lamborghini’s upcoming SUV but a regular Audi Q7 wrapped in camouflage and Lamborghini stickers for reasons unknown. Not as strange though, because the Urus will be based on the same platform as the Q7 premium SUV.

Coming back to the Lamborghini Urus, an actual test mule is yet to be seen on public roads but what we can already tell you is that the model will be powered by a twin-turbo V8, the finer details of which should emerge as the launch date comes close. Stay tuned for more updates.
