INR 3 lakhs off on Maruti Suzuki Kizashi

It started with the Baleno, also affected the Grand Vitara a fair bit and has also taken its toll on the Kizashi entry level luxury sedan. We are talking about the junta’s perception of Maruti Suzuki being good with only making inexpensive hatchbacks. While the Suzuki Grand Vitara met with some success, the carmaker was seen offering huge discounts on the Baleno towards the end of the car’s lifecycle. Maruti Suzuki dealers have been offering huge discounts on the Kizashi since some time and now, Maruti Suzuki has reduced the price of the almost non-selling sedan by as much as INR 3 lakhs!

This means that the Kizashi sedan is now available for INR 14 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). We had always felt that the Kizashi can do with an under INR 15 lakhs price tag and the recent move from the nation’s largest car maker will, in all probability, help Maruti achieve a better sales figure from the sporty sedan. Powering the Kizashi is a 2.4 liter, 4 cylinder petrol motor with direct injection and variable valve timing. The motor produces 177 BHP-230Nm and can be had either with a 6 speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox.

The Kizashi comes to us via CBU route and the recent move from the car maker seems to be a desperate move to clear the stocks of the under-performing sedan.

  1. What does not make sense is that we have a government that FUELS INFLATION by taxing the livin crap out of everything . Half the cost of fuel comes from a plethora of government taxes i am given to understand ….

  3. Lovely car with an unfortunate pricing. A petrol sedan at 14L in this day and age? It will be beautifully built and it will run superbly but with premium petrol up by Rs.22 from an already shocking Rs.7X this just doesn't make sense.
