India bound Volvo V40’s official images emerge on Facebook

We showed you some leaked images of the V40 hatch a few days back, taken from an auto mag. Those images, however, having been scanned at the source, were not very clear. Now a fresh, hi-res set of official images of the car has emerged on the Facebook page of a Polish car magazine. The V40 carries forward Volvo’s newfound zeal to break away from its staid design and offer its products in more dynamic and youthful forms to its customers.

Volvo V40

The sporty looking hatchback will make its debut at the Geneva Motor show and will most likely be powered by both petrol and diesel engines ranging between 1.4 to 1.8 liters in cubic capacity. Roughly the size of the Honda Jazz, the car will take the fight to the likes of the Audi A3 and the BMW 1-series and present itself as a sexy looking, and probably more economical alternative to those premium offerings. Going by its size, price range and given Volvo’s reinvigorated focus on the Indian market, the V40 will most likely make it here in 2013. Volvo isn’t launching any new products this year, but 2013 should see this baby driving onto our roads.

Modern, well-equipped and sporty, the V40 will go a long way in turning up the volumes for the Swedish brand. What should be a good price for the car if and when it arrives in India?
