BMW India today released a video teaser of the India bound BMW i8. The video teaser follows a couple of teaser images that we saw earlier on BMW India’s official Facebook page. This video here has been airing on many TV channels.
As already known, BMW India will be showcasing the i8 hyrid at the Auto Expo along with 3-Series GT, new X5 and possibly the X4. (Click here to read about all 40 odd cars that are headed to us this year)
The BMW i8 is powered by a 1.5 litre twin turbo three pot motor, which has a max power of 231 HP and peak torque of 320 Nm. The petrol engine comes mated to an electrical motor that supplies an extra 131 HP and 320 Nm of torque. The petrol motor in combination with the electric motor, produces a maximum output of 362 HP and 570 Nm of torque.
The hybrid supercar from the Bavarian car maker is expected to be priced at 1.5 crore INR and will be showcased next month at the Auto Expo. The car will be launched by late this year and 7-8 units have been allotted for the Indian market. We can already see celebs and business tycoons lapping up those allotted units.
