Hyundai registers cumulative sales of a whopping 7.20 Lakh units

One of the leading players in the market, Hyundai has shared the sales report of their vehicles for the year 2022-23. This year, the brand has reported a YOY growth of up to 18%. Hyundai India has reported a total sales of 7,20,565 units including both export and domestic. The new sales figure is 1,09,805 units more than the previous year’s sales of 6,10,760 units.

The Sales of Domestic and Export Units

The brand has reported the highest domestic sales of 5,67,546 resulting in 17.9% YoY growth. The majority of domestic sales were contributed by popular models like Creta, Venue, Alcazar, Tucson, Aura, and Grand i10 Nios. In the Fiscal Year 2022-23, Hyundai launched several models like the new Tucson, the new Verna, and the ioniq5. Hyundai also introduced the facelift versions of the Grand i10 Nios, Aura, and Venue in FY 2022-23. Each of these cars is designed to cater to a range of audiences in the Indian market.

The export sales of Hyundai India have registered a YoY growth of 18.4% in FY2022-23. In figures, Hyundai India has exported 1,53,019 units which is up from 1,29,260 units in the previous FY 2021-22 by 23,759 units. This results in an 18% growth in cumulative sales of 7,20,565 units against the 6,10,760 units of FY 2021-22.

March 2023 Sales of Hyundai India

Hyundai India has registered a 13.5% growth in domestic sales for March 2023. In March 2023, Hyundai achieved domestic sales of 50,600 units against the 44,600 units of FY 2021-22. This results in Hyundai having sold 6,000 units more than the previous fiscal year. Also, Hyundai achieved an MoM growth of 7.73% in March 2023.

Regarding export trade, Hyundai India registered a YoY growth of 2% in March 2023. Hyundai exported 10,900 units in March 2023 which is 213 units more than March 2022 of 10,687 units. This results in the total sales for March 2023 of 61,500 units which is 11.2% more than March 2022 sales of 55,287 units.

Waiting Period for Hyundai Cars

The popular models of Hyundai like Creta, Venue, Alcazar, Tucson, Aura, and Grand i10 Nios have a surge in demand with the petrol variants having a high waiting period of 24 weeks, whereas the diesel variant of Creta takes 32 weeks. Hyundai Creta is one of the most popular compact SUVs in India. To meet its growing demand, Hyundai has planned to launch the facelift and EV versions of Creta soon in India.

The waiting period for Alcazar and i20 models range from 16 weeks, while Grand i10 Nios has a waiting period of 20 weeks. Aura has a waiting period of 14 weeks, and Venue’s waiting period is 32 weeks, depending on the variant. Recently, Hyundai launched a new generation of Verna, and its deliveries are already commenced.
