Hyundai Introduces 6th and 7th Year Extended Warranty On Petrol Cars

Hyundai has introduced an extended warranty option for the sixth and seventh years. This warranty pack will be available for only its Petrol cars and SUVs. The option will have two slabs, one within 90 days of the car’s delivery and the other after 90 days of delivery, but before the expiry of the basic or the extended warranty.

The discontinued models are also eligible for this offer. Buyers will have three options for warranty. The first is where an existing customer with a five-year-old model can separately purchase a 2-year/1,00,000 extended warranty as a 6th and 7th year /1,00,000km warranty. Which can be used for Hyundai’s current running models, the Venue SUV, Aura compact sedan, the Grand i10 Nios hatchback, and also the discontinued models like the Eon. Prices for this warranty vary from ₹ 6,989 to ₹ 27,762, depending on the model and delivery period.

The second option is for old cars which are 4 years old, here buyers can buy an additional 3-year/1,00,000 km warranty, while the price range for this option is  ₹ 9,521 to ₹ 37,820, depending on the model and delivery period. If you want to continue beyond the standard 3-year warranty offered on Hyundai cars, this last option is for you. Where you can get an extended warranty with the 4 year/1,00,000 km pack. The price for this option ranges from ₹ 15,154 to ₹ 46,530, depending on the model and the delivery period. But the discontinued Eon hatchback is not eligible for this warranty. 

Looking at the rivals Kia and Honda offer 5 years additional warranty for unlimited kilometers. While Tata motors offer 3 years/ unlimited km. Maruti Suzuki offers up to 5 years/1,00,000 km, while Volkswagen and Skoda offer up to 6 years/1,50,000 km extended warranty. In other news, Hyundai’s premium SUV Tucson is all set to launch on the 4th of August. Ahead of its launch, Hyundai has commenced pre-bookings of the Tucson for a token amount of ₹50000. Apart from this, Hyundai has also revealed that the Tucson will be available in Platinum, Signature, and Signature AWD(diesel only) variants. The new Tucson comes in a long wheelbase format for the Indian market and will offer both petrol and diesel engine options.
