The soon-to-be-launched Hyundai Grand i10 ceases not to make news. Hours after we posted teaser video of the upcoming hatchback, pics of a couple of Grand i10 at a dealer stockyards have surfaced on the cyber space. The silver car in these pics is the diesel version, while the white one is a petrol variant.
Powering the petrol variants is the same 1.2-liter Kappa2 engine that powers the i10 and the i20. The diesel engine variant gets a new 1.1-liter three cylinder diesel engine that has been derived from the i20′s 1.4-liter CRDi motor. This engine has a max power of 71 PS and a peak torque of 16.3 kgm.
Visually, the Grand i10 benefits from the carmaker’s Fluidic design language and looks as contemporary as any other modern day Hyundai. The car’s exteriors borrow not even a single design cue from the last gen i10 but it would be safe to term the design as evolutionary. The interiors too are as contemporary as the exteriors.
The new Hyundai Grand i10 will be launched in India tomorrow and the Grand i10 will become the fifth hatchback in Hyundai India’s car lineup. HMIL is using the slogan “Fun Finds A New Lingo” to promote the upcoming Grand i10. The new Hyundai Grand i10 will find itself slotted between the i10 and i20 in Indian car market. This means that the Hyundai Grand i10 could be seen rivalling the Maruti Ritz and the Nissan Micra in India.
