Hyundai, one of the top players in the automotive industry, has released a sketch of their highly-anticipated SUV, the Exter. The company not only disclosed the name of the vehicle but also showcased its breathtaking design.
Design of Hyundai Exter
The new Hyundai Exter showcases a bold and distinctive design language in line with the sketch. It boasts a unique front fascia boasts a parametric grille, split headlights, and signature H-shaped LED taillights. Furthermore, the hood features distinctive lines and the car rides on 15-inch alloy wheels available in two colors. Notably, a sunroof would add to the appeal of the car.
However, the interiors of the upcoming Hyundai Exter might take inspiration from the Grand i10 NIOS hatchback. Certain modern features like a large infotainment screen with connectivity features, wireless charging, a digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, and 6-airbags are expected.
Powertrains in Hyundai Exter
The upcoming Hyundai Exter will offer customers two engine options, both of which will meet BS6 Phase-2 standards and support E20 blended fuel. The base variant will feature a 1.2L VTVT 4-cylinder petrol engine. This engine will produce 82 hp of power and 115 Nm of torque output. Customers of 1.2 variants can choose between a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.
On the other hand, the top variants will have the option of a 1.0L 3-cylinder T-GDi turbo petrol engine. This engine will produce 99 hp and 172 Nm of output paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Moreover, Hyundai might provide the CNG option in Exter at a later date.
Pricing and the Competition
The Hyundai will retail the Exter in the price bracket of Rs. 6 to 11 lakhs ex-showroom. Once it hits the market, the Exter will lock horns with its rivals such as Maruti Ignis, Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
