This latest development might eradicate the traffic jams from our future. Popular Jap manufacturer Honda is developing a system that detects potential traffic congestion. The system works by observing driving patterns of traffic and determining if there is a chance of a traffic jam.
As per Honda, the acceleration and deceleration behaviour of a vehicle plays a huge role in building up of traffic congestion. This system by the Jap manufacturer can analyze the traffic pattern and adjusts these behaviours to do away with a chance of a traffic jam. As a result, one also extracts better fuel consumption from the car.A test by Honda in Tokyo showed that the system resulted into an 8% improvement in fuel economy.
What has really impressed us is that instead of just predicting a traffic jam and making a driver hunt for alternate routes, the system helps in avoiding any sort of congestion.
