Honda SP 125 gets OBD-2 Update

One of the popular 2-wheeler brands, Honda has launched an updated version of the SP 125. The SP 125 is one of the popular bikes with good sales. Since its launch, this bike become popular among people due to its sleek design, performance, and fuel efficiency. With this update, Honda SP 125 complies with the latest emission norms and gets updated OBD.

About mechanical tweaks in SP 125

Honda has updated the powertrain of the SP 125 with OBD-2 technology. This engine meets the latest BS6 phase-2 and RDE emission standards. Powering the updated Honda SP 125 is a 125cc 4-stroke PGM-Fi petrol engine producing 8kW and 10.9nm of output.

The new Honda SP 125 features Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) technology. This technology ensures more fuel combustion and minimized friction. Honda claims that this technology optimizes the energy output and lowers the NVH levels of the engine.

Moreover, Honda has equipped the SP 125 with the Idling Stop System feature. This system shuts off the engine automatically. Thereby lowering tailpipe emissions and minimizing fuel wastage. The engine can be restarted by twisting the throttle.

Design and Aesthetics of SP 125

The Honda SP 125 has a sleek and modern design that combines practicality with aesthetics. It features a sharp front cowl with an LED headlamp and a muscular fuel tank with edgy graphics. The side panels are designed to flow seamlessly with the tank. This bike sits on sporty black alloy wheels with tubeless tires. The rear gets the split grab rail and a compact tail section with an LED taillight. These elements enhance the aerodynamics and stunning design of the bike.

Features and Utility of this bike

The bike comes with a range of advanced features that adds to the convenience of the riders. The Honda SP 125 features a full digital meter providing all the necessary information while riding. This cluster displays the fuel efficiency details, distance to empty, average fuel efficiency, etc. Additionally, it has a switchable ECO indicator and a gear position indicator that ensures the best drivability and fuel efficiency.

The utility of this bike is accentuated by the wider 100mm rear tire, a 5-step adjustable rear suspension, a seal chain, and the Combi-Brake System (CBS). Other features of this bike are the engine start/stop switch that serves a dual function, an integrated headlamp beam, and a passing switch.

About pricing, variants, and color options

The updated version of the Honda SP 125 is offered in two variants, namely the drum and the disc. Honda offers 3 years of standard warranty on the SP 125. However, customers can also choose the optional 3 years service warranty. Riders can choose the best color from five different color options: – Black, Matte Axis Grey, Imperial Red, Pearl Siren Blue, and Marvel Blue.
