Honda S660 to be showcased at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show

Honda recently announced its plans for the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show, which starts on November 20. Showcased at the Honda staill in the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show will be the new Honda S660 Concept, which is a study on “an open-top sports-type mini-vehicle”.

Unlike what was being thought by many, the production spec S660 would not be a S2000 replacement and will instead become a rival of the Suzuki Cappuccino’s successor.

The S660 has a mid-engined, rear-wheel drive layout and powering the car will be a kei car complying 660cc three-cylinder engine, with approx 64 bhp of max power. The engine is likely to come mated to a CVT motor and the car could have a kerb weight of 900 kgs. The car could reach production stage in 2015 and is likely to be sold exclusively in Japan.

The S660 could meet its foe, the upcoming Cappuccino successor, at the Tokyo Motor Show, where it would be showcased alongside the production spec Honda Urban SUV and the NSX concept.
