Honda Cars India, the Indian subsidiary of the renowned Japanese car maker, is close to launching its first MPV ever. The Honda Mobilio, the upcoming Honda MPV in India, is close to entering our car market and today, we’ve come up with images and details of the soon to be launched model. It is being said that the new Honda Mobilio Insia launch would take place in July and the while the carmaker hasn’t yet disclosed the Honda Mobilio India launch date, its website reads that the launch of the highly awaited model is just “few months from now”!
Basically a 7 seater MPV, the Honda Mobilio MPV will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Nissan Evalia, Ashok Leyland Stile and the Chevrolet Enjoy in India. Honda Mobilio has been designed and developed as per Honda’s “Man Maximum Machine Minimum” philosophy and reports suggest that the upcoming MPV has more cabin space than the Ertiga. The Mobilio, which measures 4.4 metres in length, is slightly longer than the Ertiga. It has a ground clearance of 185mm.
The India spec Honda Mobilio is powered by the same 1.5 litre, 4 cylinder, 115bhp iVTEC petrol engine that powers the City. It is also almost for sure that India would get the 1.5 litre iDTEC diesel engine that powers both the City and the Amaze in India. The diesel engine has a max power of 100 PS and boasts of an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 25+ kmpl.
There have been several rumors stating that Honda Mobilio price in India would be petted around INR 6-7 lakhs.
