Honda has announced the Vision 110, an international replacement of the Dio / lead 110. The Lead 110, which is exported to the UK from India, will be replaced with the new Vision 110. The announcement gives us a hint that HMSI may have started production of the scooter at HMSI’s Indian facility. This indicates that Honda may soon announce the launch of the new model in India as well, or as a replacement to the Activa / Dio duo. Apart from the standard equipment, Honda is making available a range of accessories including alarm kit, U-lock, high windscreen and hand guards.
The Vision 110 is powered by a 110cc engine fuel injected engine. Honda is claiming 50.2km/l fuel efficiency for the scooter, which weighs only 102kg. Peak power output is rated at 8.4PS @ 8000 rpm with peak torque rated at 8.7Nm @ 6500rpm. The engine for the new scooter is Euro 3 compliant.
Priced at £1,800 or Rs 1,35000 in the UK, the model comes to replace the Lead 110 version, and will be available in Pearl Procyon Black, Boss Grey Metallic, Pearl White, Candy Lucid Red and Candy Aluja Blue.
Just like the Aviator scooter in India, the Vision 110 will incorporate Honda’s CBS or Combined Braking System. The seat height for the scooter is 760mm, with generous luggage space under the seat. There is an additional option of helmet holders on both sides of the underseat compartment.
There has been no word from HMSI about the new model, but our understanding suggests that the company may introduce the new scooter in the coming months as a new model altogether. Stay tuned for more updates…
