Honda is gearing up to launch the BR-V in India. While the media events have already been scheduled, the company has begun a teaser campaign for the crossover. The media drive is planned to take place by the end of this month hinting at an imminent launch. The BR-V recently scored a 5 star rating at the ASEAN NCAP crash test. The company started the digital campaign with the hash tag ‘Where Next With BRV’. The campaign begins with “where do you want to go next with BR-V”, that will see the BR-V explore different locations for the next 20 days meandering its way through different terrains.

At the heart of the BR-V will be a 1.5 litre diesel engine seen on all models on Honda’s line-up in India except the Brio. This engine is said to make roughly 100 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque. Reports suggest that a petrol engine could also be on offer and is likely to produce a power output of 119 PS. Transmission duties are said to be performed by a six speed manual transmission on both the mills while the petrol mill could come equipped with a CVT gearbox.

Based on the same platform that underpins the Amaze, Mobilio and the Brio, the BR-V was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi earlier this year when the crossover made its Indian debut. Dimension wise, the BR-V measures 4,455 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width and 1,650 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,660 mm.

Honda has not officially disclosed the launch date for this upcoming crossover. Once launched, The BR-V will rival the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster, etc. Production for the BR-V will take place at the company’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan and one can expect it to come with a price tag of Rs. 10-15 lakhs.
