Global NCAP has crash tested the Honda Amaze sedan under its new protocol, and awarded it a 2-star adult occupant and a 0-star child occupant protection rating.
Adult Occupant Protection
The Global NCAP’s assessment of the Honda Amaze revealed a 2-star rating for adult occupant protection. This rating was attributed to several factors, including the absence of optional side head protection, lack of Electronic Stability Control (ESC) as a standard feature, and the absence of a seat belt reminder for all occupants.
Child Occupant Protection
Shockingly, the Honda Amaze received a 0-star rating for child occupant protection, indicating significant deficiencies in safeguarding younger passengers. The crash test simulations demonstrated concerning outcomes, with dummies showing head contact during frontal impact tests. Of particular concern was the lack of three-point seat belts in all seating positions, absence of a passenger airbag disconnection switch, and limited provisions for Child Restraint Systems (CRS) installation.

It’s important to note that these ratings were determined under the Global NCAP’s new testing protocol, which places a heightened emphasis on safety standards.
