Honda 2-wheelers appoints new members for top management

Honda 2-wheelers have rejigged their top management team for future operations. The company has appointed Mr. Tsutsumu Otani as its new President. Also, he will handle the charge of the MD and CEO of the company. Honda has also made significant tweaks to the Board of Directors of the company. This move by Honda represents the brand’s commitment to progress and expansion.

About the New Managing Director of Honda

Mr. Otani was born in 1968 and began his career with Honda Japan in 1997. He served in the Motorcycle Section responsible for Europe in 2001. Later in 2005, he joined the Honda Italy Industriale S.P.A for 5 years. In 2010, Mr. Otani handled the charge of the South American division and later moved to Argentina division in 2011. In 2013, Mr. Otani returned to the South American division of the company.

He returned to Japan in 2015 and served as the Manager of the Motorcycle Business Division. Later, he moved to the Sales Planning section of the same division in 2016. Mr. Otani was designated as the President of Sundiro Honda Motorcycle Co., Ltd. from 2017 to 2022. And in 2022, he was appointed as Executive General Manager of the Shanghai Branch of Honda Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. Mr. Otani has gained 26 years of experience in this company. After considering their work experience, Honda India has appointed him as MD and CEO of the brand.

Changes in the Board of Directors of the company

Honda 2-wheeler India has reinforced its Senior Leadership Team to lead the brand towards leadership in the market. Mr. Vinay Dhingra has been promoted to the position of Senior Director of Human Resource Administration at Honda 2-wheeler India. Previously, he was the Director of General & Corporate Affairs at Honda India Foundation.

Mr. Yogesh Mathur has been shifted to the Board of Directors of Honda 2-wheeler India. Mr. Mathur will now be responsible for Customer Service, Logistics Planning & Control, Premium Motorcycle Business, Sales & Marketing. He was previously handling the charge of the former Operating Officer of Sales and Marketing.

Mr. Sanjeev Jain was previously an Operating Officer of the Honda New Model Purchase & Parts team. Now, Honda has promoted Mr. Jain to the director of purchase. Mr. Jain has replaced Mr. V. Sridhar, who has retired from the company after 23 years of association.

Major Update for Honda 2-wheelers

Honda 2-wheeler India has made revisions to their product line-up to comply with the latest emission norms. The updated line-up includes a range of bikes like CD110, Livo, Shine SP, Unicorn, X-Blade, Hornet, CB-series, H’ness series, etc. Also, the company has updated its scooter range to the Activa series, Dio, and Grazia series. Honda will continue to sell its premium range of bikes such as Africa Twin, Goldwing, CBR-series, and 500X. Now, all the Honda 2-wheelers have been equipped with OBD-2 devices, which monitor Real Driving Emissions. This move showcases Honda’s commitment to reducing emissions and providing its customers with the best service in India.
