Honda Motorcycle & Scoter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) has enjoyed a good progress and success rate i nthe last fiscal. HMSI achieved record breaking sales of 27.54 lac units against 21.07 lac units. As the Fastest Growing 2Wheeler Company in India, HMSI grew by 31% against the subdued 2Wheeler industry growth of 2% during the fiscal.

HMSI witnessed a significant 4% point jump in its domestic market share to 19%. As a result, HMSI is today the 2nd largest 2Wheeler Company in
Indian two-wheeler market. HMSI gained market share in every segment in FY’12-13 compared to last fiscal. While motorcycle segment sales in
India dropped 0.13%, HMSI motorcycle sales grew exponentially at 39%.

Growing at healthy 16%, Honda also increased its Leadership in automatic scooter market, in comparison to 14% growth of domestic automatic
scooter industry. FY’13 saw introduction of Dream Yuga which has taken its segment by storm. HMSI expanded its sales & service network to over 1950 outlets (includes 654 Dealers, 670 Branches/Sub dealers and 626 service set-ups) across India. New Zonal offices were inaugurated at Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bhopal, Mohali and Bhubaneswar. In FY 2013-14, Honda is confident to aggressively grow 43% and sell 39.3 lac units over FY’13. To further the meet increasing customer demand with new speed, Honda is slated to start operations at 3rd plant in Karnataka by first quarter of FY’13-14.

Speaking on the growth, Mr. Keita Muramatsu – President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “In its relatively short journey, Honda has Connected, Communicated and Created for India. In FY’13-14, HMSI aims an overwhelming 43% jump in its sales based on introduction of new products and rapid expansion in all fronts from production capacity to network & manpower. Now, as Only Honda in India, HMSI is committed to continue realizing ‘The Power of Dreams’ of Million Indians in future too.”

Speaking on what customers can expect from Honda in near future, Mr. Y.S Guleria – Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter

bar of mileage delivery in each 2Wheeler segment.”

    If they are going to do 60kmpl on scooters I see no reason why they cant meet their targets.. And if they can manage the same HET with their bikes, then even better..
